Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post here on Rainy Day Ramblings where I discuss a wide range of topics from books to blogging. Weigh in and join the conversation by adding your thoughts in the comments. If you want to do your own post, grab the question and answer it on your blog.
This week's discussion:
What series have you been meaning to finish/ pick up again but haven't done so?
Series are the bane of my reading existence. I adore a good series, and I love nothing more than to get hooked on a new series. I always look forward to the next release, even if I have to endure a long wait. However, the problem for me is I start so many new series each and every year that I have a hard time keeping up with them. I can't even tell you the the number of series I have picked up and read the first book or even the second and third, and for whatever reason, I haven't gone back to finish. Today, I am going to share my short list (if I shared my long list we would be here awhile) of series I need to continue.
The Chicago Vampires by Chloe Neill: I read the first book of this series way back in 2012 as part of a read along, and I liked the first book, but for whatever reason, I haven't had the chance to continue. The series is almost at the end, and those who have kept up are loving it. I really want to get back to this series.
White Trash Zombie by Diana Rowland: I read the first book when it came out back in 2011, and I loved it. It made me laugh so hard. After a couple of years, I finally read the second book, which I didn't love as much. In 2015, I returned to the series and listened to the third book, but I haven't had the chance to listen to the subsequent releases. This series is funny and unique, and I really need to pick it back up.
Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas: I have read the first two books in this series, and I really liked them. I know everyone raves about each and every new book, and for whatever reason, I have fallen behind. Hopefully, I can do some binge reading and get caught up.
The Grisha by Leigh Bardugo: This is only a trilogy and I have read books one and two, and I have yet to read the third. How ridiculous is that not to have finished the series? I really need to get this one read soon.
Arcadia Bell by Jenn Bennett: This is an interesting series with a new take on demons. I read the first two books, and I have the third and fourth which completes the series in my pile. I have no excuse, I just need to read these.
The Dark Tower by Stephen King: I love this series and it is so epic. I absolutely loved book four, Wizards and Glass, and perhaps because book five didn't measure up to four, I have had this series in stasis for years. I even own beautiful hardbacks of books six and seven which are sitting on my shelf begging to be read. Perhaps too, part of me is afraid to learn Roland's final fate.
So this is my short list of series I have started and want to return to. I assure you, the list is actually longer, but these are the ones that I feel like I am totally missing out on by not completing.
Tell me what series you have laid aside and need to get back to.
Next week's question:
How do you extend your blogging circle and make new blogging friends?
