Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post here on Rainy Day Ramblings where I discuss a wide range of topics from books to blogging. Weigh in and join the conversation by adding your thoughts in the comments. If you want to do your own post, grab the question and answer it on your blog.
Here is the question:
What do you love about the Halloween season?
In all honesty, I think that Halloween has become my favorite season of the year. I love that is no stress, you don't have to worry about gifts and meals and all that. It is just simple, good scary fun. I love that I can relive a bit of my childhood every year when Halloween comes around. My kids and I decorate the house every year with plenty of fun Halloween decorations. We don't go for the dark and macabre stuff, ours is whimsical and cute. We have a lot of ceramic figurines that we put flameless candles in.
I have always been a fan of creepy good books and movies, and I love that the Halloween season if full of terrific suspenseful and scary reads. I think that more books and movies are released during this time of the year that relate to the season than even at Christmas. I think we all love a good scare. Each and every year, September and October are stacked with great reads that I can't wait to get my grubby paws and this year is no exception. These are some of my must haves this Fall.
Even though I am always a summer girl, I have grown to really love Fall. The changing leaves are absolutely gorgeous especially here in the Pacific Northwest. I also love the crisp cool morning and evenings and the warm sunshine afternoons. It is not wet like Spring, and not so hot like in Summer, it is just right. October is kind of the last hurrah before wetter weather rolls in, so I soak it up.
Pumpkin everything. When Fall rolls in, everything turns to Pumpkin and spice, and I have become a big fan of Pumpkin lattes, Pumpkin breads and cookies, as well as pumpkin soup. Apples are also another Fall favorite, and I can never resist a good apple crumble or caramel apple. I also adore pumpkin patches.
Finally, I love the big day. When Halloween rolls around, I enjoy seeing all the costumes, and watching my kids get dressed up to go Trick or Treating. It takes me back to my younger years.
This is why I love the Halloween Season, what do you all enjoy this time of year?
Next week's question:
Time to give thanks: What books have you been most thankful for this year?
