Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post here on Rainy Day Ramblings where I discuss a wide range of topics from books to blogging. Weigh in and join the conversation by adding your thoughts in the comments. If you want to do your own post, grab the question and answer it on your blog.
Here is this week's topic:
What are your picks for Winter 2017?
Yikes! I can't believe it is almost Winter 2017. Every time I do one of these posts, I am in shock that another season is upon us. This year in particular since I feel like I am missing a big chunk out of my year. Even though Winter is my least favorite time of the year, I know that January will be more bearable since there is always a plethora of good books releasing. Here are my most anticipated books of the season.
The Cursed Queen by Sarah Fine: I loved the first book in the series last year, The Imposter Queen, and I know I can count on Ms. Fine to deliver. This is a series with interesting characters, excellent world building and a forbidden romance. This one releases on January 7th.
Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth: I enjoyed Roth's Divergent Trilogy, even though I had some issues with second book. I appreciated the world building and the unique ideas. This newest book sounds like it has more fantastic world building, so I am hoping it will deliver.
Caraval by Stephanie Garber: This is my blind pick for the season. I have heard some good preliminary buzz for this one, plus I love the circus setting. This one is out January 24th.
Feversong by Karen Marie Moning: I have a love hate relationship with this series. I think it is fantastic on audio, I love the characters, I enjoy the romances, but I hate that it is unpredictable with its release dates, and that the last two books haven't moved the plot much, and it is known for brutal cliffhangers. Still, I am addicted to this series, and I will be listening to the next book when it releases on January 17th.
Eleventh Grave in Moonlight by Darynda Jones: What can I say? I love this series. Ghosts, romance, Satan's son, humor. Just read it. This one is out January 24th.
Etched in Bone by Anne Bishop: This series is one of my all time favorites and it is still growing strong after four books. I can't get enough of the the characters, the world building and the fantastic story telling. If you want excellent Urban Fantasy, this is it. I will be chomping at the bit to get this on March 7th.
Silence Fallen by Patricia Briggs: Mercy Thompson is one of the first UF series I picked up, and last year, I finally caught up. This is an excellent series with shapeshifters, all kinds of paranormal creatures and a terrific romance. I am always eager to see what Mercy and the gang are up to. This one also releases on March 7th.
So this is my short list of books I want to read. What about you all? Tell me what books are on your wish list for Winter 2017!
