Whew. Another week down. I am so glad that January is almost over. It has been a month of snow storms and disruption. My kids still haven't gone to school for a full week since the second week of December due to all the snow days. They have announced that they are eliminating two of the teacher in service days in February to help make up for the snow days, which is fine by me. I still feel like we are out of rhythm.
I feel like I am running in circles this week. Errands and things have taken longer, I forgot to prep my post for Thursday, and to make matters worse, I injured my hand.
Last Sunday, my cat Smokey started hissing and growling at my mom's cat, we have taken her in, and trying to getting two old males to accept a young female has been a feat. Anyway, Smokey was on my end table and I didn't want him to jump off and drag my mom's doily and my Tiffany lamp with him, so I grabbed him, and he bit and scratched me. My cats have never bitten me, ever. It was just a case of him being uptight. He bit my hand right in the meaty part where my palm creases. It hurt! Plus it has been hard to keep bandaids on it. It is feeling much better, and I have forgiven Smokey because how can you stay mad at that face?
I haven't gotten as much stitching done because of my injury, but I have made excellent project on my Stargazer cross stitch that I started on January 1st. She is gorgeous.
I got a lovely gift this week from Melissa@Books and Things. She sent me a bookmark, which my daughter took over, a key chain, which my son pinned on his backpack and an adorable handmade scissor holder to wear around my neck. It made my day. So appreciate it, especially since Melissa has been struggling. Thanks, Melissa you are awesome.
Small acts of kindness make all the difference, especially right now as there is so much turmoil. Remember be brave and be kind!
