March roared in like a lion here in Portland, bringing what else but more rain. At least the days are getting longer and it stays lighter in the evening. It has been a wet few months in Portland. I keep telling you all every week, but even I was amazed when I heard the stats. Since October first, Portland has received over 34 inches of rain, annually we receive around 39 inches, so in the last five months we were drenched. October and February proved to be extremely wet, both months setting records. October brought over eight inches of rain and only three dry days the entire month, while February poured down with a new all time record. Almost 11 inches for the month and only two completely rain free days the whole month. Yikes! That is a lot of rain. The weather man said the first two weeks of March are also going to be particularly wet, but hopefully after that, things will dry out and we will start to see a more traditional weather pattern, which means still some rain, but hopefully not torrential downpours. I feel so cooped up. We haven't been able to get outside and walk in the park since September. Normally, we can go all winter, but not with all the rain. If rain brings Spring flowers, we should be in for a bumper crop. I will be hoping for lots of color soon. I guess on the bright side, Spring isn't too far off, and I know warmer and brighter days are on the horizon.
How has your weather been?
Lots of wet days has meant plenty of time reading and stitching. I have almost completed my February calendar block. It looks so cute:
The kickoff of March also means it is time to start
I have gone through my books and decided that I want to read and host giveaways for many of the physical books I have laying around my house. Currently I have:
I am also hoping to read:
Wish me luck!
