I can't believe we are on the homebound stretch to the holidays. My kids are now out of school for winter break, so this next week we will focus on baking some Christmas cookies and candy, decorating a gingerbread house and doing the last of the wrapping and cleaning the house for the big day. I am happy to report that I am almost done with the hustling and bustling. Just need to wrap a couple more gifts, drop one in the mail and send out a few holiday cards, and then I can relax and enjoy what remains of the season. This has been a surprisingly good holiday season for me, I haven't felt the stress, and I have kept the melancholy in check, even though it is hard to go through the holidays without my mom. Still, I have much to be grateful for, and I am looking forward to a quiet couple of weeks at home with my family.
I will be signing the blog off on Friday next week, and I will be off the blogosphere until the second of January. I have been feeling burned out lately, and I think some time to recharge my batteries is much needed. So I want to take a minute and wish you all a joyous holiday season and a happy new year. I hope you all get lots of books to read, and that you can take time to be with those you love. I look forward to connecting with you all again in 2018!
