Here is the conversation starter for the week:
What books or series that are languishing in your TBR are you finally going to try this year?
I know I am not alone in trying to read books that have long been sitting in my TBR pile. This last couple of years, I have worked hard to go through and try and catch up on ARCS that I didn’t get around to reading. I have also enjoyed taking time to read many of the books that I wanted to read, these days, I am doing a nice blend of current ARCS, past ARCS and books I want to read. Considering there are still several books and series that I still haven’t gotten around to, I am hoping to catch up a bit this year.
Here are some of the books I want to read:
The Fireman by Joe Hill: I started this book back in the Spring of 2016 right around the time I found out about my mother’s illness, thus I ended up setting it aside as I didn’t read much during that period. I hope to pick it back up and finish it this year.
Nevernight by Jay Kristoff: I am a huge fan of Mr. Kristoff, but I put off reading Nevernight because I heard it was dark, and I know his writing can be depressing. This was a book that came out as I was coping with my mother’s passing, so it got buried in the pile. Hoping to dust it off and get it read.
Penryn and the End of Days Series: Do you know how long this series has been in the pile? Since I started blogging seven years ago. I have no excuse. I have the books, I really need to read them.
Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas: I read the first books in both series when they released, but then I never got back to either series. I am wanting to catch up as I have read so many fantastic reviews for this series.
Elemental Assassin by Jennifer Estep: I have long been saying I want to read this series. I have loved this author’s other series. I keep let it sit in the pile. Hoping to grab some audiobooks from the library and get hooked on this series in 2018.
This is quite a lengthy list, and I am hopeful that I can get to most of these reads. Fingers crossed. Cutting way back on my requests is definitely helping me to get through more of the backlisted books/ books I want to read. Wish me luck!
What are the books/ series that you are wanting to finally read this year?
