Another week draws to a close, and that means the school year is winding down and summer is almost here. Are you ready for the chaos of summer? I am still busy trying to get ahead so I won't fall behind with all the craziness of kids and company and vacations. Right now, I have finished almost the entire month of June aside from the Sunday Posts. All the reviews are done, I just have a couple of Tell Me Something Tuesdays and Friday Forecasts to do which I should have completed by next week. I am already working on reviews for July, which is amazing. I have never been this far ahead. It has helped to stop doing reviews on Saturday. It is such a relief to have a bit of a buffer as you never know when you might need to take a few days off.
Speaking of days off, this is Memorial day weekend. It is the official kick off of summer in the U.S. A weekend of picnics, movies, camping and all things fun. However, living in the Pacific Northwest, the weather tends to not cooperate. We have plans for a picnic and a couple of day trips, I just hope we don't get completely rained out. It is also a time to take a moment to reflect on loved ones we have lost and to thank all those who have served to protect our country. I am forever grateful for my grandparents who have passed on, as well all of those past and present, who have protected and served this country.
I ran on two blog posts of interest this past week that I wanted to share. Nick@Nick's Book Blog took the time to put together an awesome post all about those quiet, sleeper YA books that more people need to read. Nick asked bloggers to share the titles they wished more people would read. I added my two cents. Check out Nick's post!
Felicia@The Geeky Blogger's Book Blog had an interesting post on Wednesday. I was floored at the email Felicia received from an unnamed source that called her out for not being an active participant in the blogging community because she doesn't do cover reveals and blitzes and all that, and she rarely does tours. Are you kidding me? I am with Felicia. I never do cover reveals, blitzes and anything that turns my blog into an advertising billboard. Blogging is a hobby, and my blog is for me. It isn't for an author, or promoter to use as their personal billboard whenever they please. I still can't believe someone had the audacity to send that email out to Felicia. What do you think?
Okay..... deep breaths.... Onto blogging stuff.
I am still chugging along with my Clean Sweep Challenge hosted by Kimba@The Caffeinated Reviewer. I am reading through those ARCs fast and furiously right now. This past week I read from the pile:
