It's the weekend. Another week in the books. I have to say this week has been a mixed bag. Lots of rain again, we have set a new all time record for rain in February, over ten inches and counting. However, there have been some sun breaks here and there, which makes me hopeful. I am not complaining because all the rain has relieved the drought. At least we aren't dealing with flooding like in California. When it rains it pours, right?
I am doing a bit better with the reading slump. I read and loved Silence Fallen by Patricia Briggs. It was nice to return to the world for Mercy Thompson.
I gave up on:
Is it just me or is YA losing it's allure?
I am going to continue to read books in favorite series and go to authors until I break out of this. I think a lot of the slump has to do with my mood in general. The winter has worn on me, and there have been some tough days when I missed my mom so much. I am certain when Spring arrives with sunshine and flowers, I will feel so much better.
In the meantime, my cross stitching is keeping me sane. I am working on a monthly stitch along, and this one has given me some grief, I have had to tear out more stitches on this piece, but it is going to be so cute when it's done. Each month, I get a new storybook theme to stitch. I have completed most of the border as well as the first two months, January is The Owl and the Pussycat, and February is Heidi. I can't wait to see what March will be. If you want to do one, you can get the pattern or a kit at The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. I think this is a terrific piece to do if you are a reader.
Okay, onto blogging stuff. Have you signed up for the
